Friday's Letters!

Dear Lexie, You are the sweetest puppy ever and I love you dearly but please stop trying to eat the toilet paper and cotton balls that are in the bathroom trasth can.  They will make you very sick and I do not understand your obsession with eating weird things.

Dear ER, Please be kind to me this weekend.  I know I spend a lot of time with you, but this nurse is very tired and does not feel well.  Thanks ahead of time.

Dear hormones, I think you are actively trying to screw with my head.  I had a very vivid dream that I birthed a breach baby last night with no epidural, and no other medical staff around.  So thanks to you, I woke up feeling anxious and unrested.

Dear husband, Thank you for being my constant rock and for proof reading all of my grad school application essays and CV's :)

Happy Friday!

Monday Musings!

Well today is actually my Sunday and tomorrow is actually my Monday (ahhh the life of a nurse!)....but since the calendar says it's Monday, I'll just play along.  I had a nice relaxing day off work today.  I woke up with all intention of going to the trainer I've been seeing lately, but was not feeling 100% so I stayed home.  I finished up my application for graduate school today! Yay :)...huge stress relief there.  Now I have to wait unit May to hear back : /

Speaking of May, it feels like May here!! 81 degrees today.  Talk about a tease because it's supposed to be back in the 50's with low of 30's next week.  It did however give me the opportunity to wear the Wynnie Lilly top I got from the Rue La La Lilly sale!  See previous post....This is my first Wynnie top and I absolutely love the fit!  Highly recommend it for a cute Spring/Summer top.

After running a few errands, I came back home, picked my dog Lexie up, and went for a visit to my Mom's house.  Absolutely love going to visit my Mom.  It always puts me in a better mood.  And my Mom loves seeing Lexie and vice versa. My Mom calls Lexie her grand-dog and it's the cutest thing!  I guess she's trying to hint around about wanting grandchildren :)  Now I'm back at home, waiting on the hubby to get home from work and class, while smelling chicken fajitas that I have cooking in the crock pot.  After dinner tonight, I plan on watching episode two of the Bachelor...never gets old to me!  For right now I'm just going to snuggle up with my little Lexie Lou :)

Happy Monday!!

Greenway and Lilly time!

Today I went to one of my favorite spots to walk, run, and bike. It's called the Greenway. I met my brother over there and even brought little Lexie along. We walked for 4 miles and thankfully Lexie behaved herself. Trying to stay on track with exercising!

Speaking of staying on track, I veered a little from the monthly budget and decided to check out Lilly on Rue La La. I managed to find a few things at great prices for this spring/summer season.

Did anyone else have any luck yesterday on Rue La La?

Happy Tuesday everyone!

New Year, New Goals!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and New Years! With the holidays winding down I thought now would be a good time to make a list of goals for the new year.  To be held accountable, I thought I would share them on here!

1.  Blog at least twice a week.  It is hard for me to blog on days that I work because I work 12 hour days at the hospital, so I hope to be able to post at least twice a week on days that I am off work.

2.  Engage in vigorous exercise 3 times per week.  I have already started on this one.   One of the security guards at the hospital owns a gym near where I live and is a trainer, so I have been trying to go see him once a week and then I usually try and go to the gym I have a membership at for cardio throughout the rest of the week.  Hopefully I can keep this up.

3.  Get into Nurse Practitioner school.  My school application is completed and I won't hear anything until May.  Please say a prayer that if this is where God wants my career to head, that He will open the door for me.

4.  No more soda!....I am a huge sucker for Dr. Pepper...especially while I'm at work.  This one will be very hard for me.

5.  Have daily devotion time.  There are times when I know I should be giving more time to God.  It's very easy to get distractd by the many things in life, and I hope to devote more time to God this year.

6.  Stick to a budget! My husband and I have set a new budget.  With him starting graduate school,
and me hoping to start in the fall, I'm just going to have to frequently remind myself that the new Lilly dress will just have to wait.

I hope everyone has a great start to the New Year!
