Friday's Letters

Today I'm trying something new and linking up with Ashley for Friday's Letters.

Dear Dr. Pepper, I have missed you these last few weeks. I tried to be a good girl and stay away from you but you are just too darn good. Your refreshing taste totally made my overtime
night at work in the ER a lot better. Dear husband, when you leave your dirty clothes lying around the bedroom it drives me crazy. However, I do appreciate the fact that you do the dishes occasionally. Dear Pollen, can you please go away? Although you have a pretty yellow color, you make my life miserable. Dear ER patient, it is not possible to have strep throat coming out of your fingernails. I apologize if I rolled my eyes at you when you asked me that, but seriously....get real! Also, cold symptoms are not an emergency. Dear lady behind me in line at Target. When they open up another lane and ask for the next customer, please try and remember that I am in front of you in line. So do not try to cut in front of me and jump to the newly opened lane.

Overcoming the mountains

When presented with difficult times in my life I always ask, God what are you trying to teach me?....

My family and I have been going through a lot lately. My dad is diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Bipolar is a disorder when you have really high highs and really low lows. So basically my dad can go from being super depressed one minute to really hyper, or manic for the proper medical term, the next.

The past few months he has been manic, and during this time he thought that he did not need to take his medication. Lets just say things spiraled out of control. He started to do things that my dad would never do (drugs, alcohol, etc.). We finally were able to get him some help. With the help of the Lord he is currently being treated at a local hospital.

I have been so emotional through all of this, and am trying to trust God and his plan for my family. I still constantly find myself asking, why us God?

One thing I have learned is that you need to be still and listen to Him. Just as Exodus 14:14 says, "the Lord will fight for you and you can be still". I find the Lord teaching me many things throughout this entire experience. Maybe the Lord is trying to bring my entire family closer to Him.

I feel that the Lord is brining me through this tough time, so that I will use it to glorify Him and witness to others. Isiah 25:1 says "O Lord, you are my God! I will exalt you with praise. For you have done extraordinary things, and executed plans made long ago exactly as you have decreed". How awesome is that? The Lord will work everything out for HIS perfect plan. All you have to do is trust in him.

Destnation Friday!

Today my husband and I are setting off for a small roadtrip and heading here:

The gorgeous Greenville, SC! We are going to visit one of my friends from college, Kayla. We plan on going out in downtown tonight, then getting up and going hiking in the morning. I am so ready for a little time away from the normal routine!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Baby Maeline's Shower!

My sweet friend Amber, who blogs here is due with her 2nd little girl on March 22nd. A few of my frineds and I threw her a shower for baby Maeline. Here are some pictures from the shower.

We did a pink and green theme, because that is Amber's nursery color scheme for decor. My mom made the pinafore cake which was Yum-O!. My friend Jess and I made the diy diaper cake and we printed the wishes for Baby Maeline cards for guests to fill out. Amber got lots of cute little things for baby Maeline.

Fun fact, we all went to high school together and were all in the same sorority in college. We have remained close friends over the past few years!

I cannot wait to meet you Maeline!
