And today my friends is my 25th bday. So here's to 25 being the best year yet! Hope everyone has a fabulous Monday tomorrow!

Day 2: Jamaica Trip

We started off day two of our Jamaican vacation by going down to Norma's restaurant, which was in our hotel, to eat some breakfast.

And here we are looking all touristy while waiting on our food.  I absolutely loved that by just
taking a few steps, you could put your toes in the water! P.S. How gorgeous is the water?!

After breaksfat, we headed to the town center of Negril to go to the supermarket.  We ended up grabbing some snack and lunch food for our hotel room so we could save some money by eating lunch in every day.  Forgot to take a picture of the market area.  Photog slacker, I know :/

Then we headed back, unloaded the groceries, got dressed and headed to the beach where we took a long
nap and walked along Seven Mile Beach (which isn't actually seven miles by the way).

Poor hubby has his eyes closed in most of the pictures we took on the beach.   Even C looks like he needs some sun and he is normally very tan!

After our beach time, we headed in to get ready and go to dinner.  Our taxi driver from earlier in the day had told us that the place to be on Monday nights in Negril is Bourbon Beach.  So that my friends is where we decided to go.

Here we are at the Bourbon Beach Bar.  We met a nice local named Marcos and even met the owner
who is from the states.  I ate a cheesburger and fries and Chris got the pulled pork sandwich which
has been featured on The Food Network.  Chris thought it was great, but I didn't really care for the pork
too much. Anyways, after enjoying a few Red Stripes and listening to a local reggae band, we decided
to turn in for the night.

And that my friends concludes Day 2 of our trip. Happy Wednesday!

Jamaican Me Crazy Mon'

Life back in reality sure is tough.  Especially after spending a week in paradise! Sorry for the blogging hiatus
but I find it very hard to get back into reality after a week on vacation.  We loved our trip to Jamaica.  I was a little worried about visiting just because we were staying at a boutique hotel a little off the beaten path.
It was not an all inclusive, but once we got there and got adjusted to the Jamaican lifestyle, it was an awesome trip.  The people there are very genuine and down to earth.  Every local we met want to
shake hands or pound our fists and talk.  Jamaica just has a really cool vibe.  So heres for the trip recap.

Day 1: We arrived mid afternooon and were greeted by a severe thunderstorm.  We took our umbrella
down to Norma's, which was the restaurant at our hotel, and grabbed some grub for a late lunch.  Don't have any picutres because of the storm, but let's just say we were soaked by the time we got back to our room. After showeirng and a nap, we decided to try and make the best of the weather and go out to dinner.  Luckily, the weather calmed down a bit and allowed us to do so.  We hailed a cab and prayed we wouldn't end up dead (more on the driving bit later), and headed to dinner.  We had no clue where to go so
we let of taxi driver take us somewhere he reccommended and we ended up here:

The restaurant was called Rockhouse Hotel and Bar and it was on the cliff side of Negril. The food and service was awesome and the staff was great.  I ordered the coconut chicken with jamaican veggies
and Chris ordered the jerk chicked pasta with rice and beans.  Yumm-O! After dinner
we walked along the restaurant's edge and watched the water crashing over the cliffs.  The landscape was
gorgeous. Sorry for the blurry pics.  Then, we headed back to our hotel and went to bed. I will do separate blog posts on the rest of the trip as I don't won't to overload one blog post.  Hope everyone has an amazing rest of the weekend!

Our Weekend

This past weekend was so much fun.  The hubs and I both had all weekend off and although it was busy, it was awesome because my best friend got married.  We slept in Friday morning and that afternoon I attended my friend, Carlene's bridal luncheon.  We at a a local place in downtown.  Then that afternoon I went home to spend time with the hubs and pup.  We mostly laid around the house being lazy.  haha.  That evening we went to the rehearsal and dinner.  The rehearsal was at the church where my friend got married and they had a low key dinner and had yummy BBQ with all the fixings catered for dinner.  It was the bride's mother's birthday, so we also celebrated her birthday at the dinner with some yummy desserts.  Heres a picture fromt the bridal luncheon:

On Saturday, I was able to sleep in too....yay :)  I then had to go get my nails and hair done before meeing at the church at 4 to take pictures.  It was so much fun having a pampering day...As embarrasing as it is, I cannot tell you the last time I had a pedicure.  It felt wonderful.  We tried to take most of the pictures beforehand, so that after the ceremony the photographer only had to take a few pictures of the bride groom and family afterwards.  The ceremony was really sweet.  They went the more modern method and played more modern songs for the ceremony, such as Beautiful Day by U2 for the recessional.  The reception was a blast.  They had a really fun DJ and had this super cute candy bar for favors.  We basically ate candy all night long after dinner.  I even managed to get my hubby to dance a little...that never happens...poor thing has two left feet. haha!  Here are some pictures before the ceremony and at the reception:

I'm so glad that I got to share this day with my bff! Congratulations Carlene and Casey :)

WILW :)

Today I'm linking up with Jaime for one of my favorite link ups...What I'm loving Wednesdays.  Today I'm loving that I have the next few days off from work to relax and catch up on some TV.  I especially
can't wait to get caught up watching the Bachelorette. Emily seems so sweet.  Hopefully she will find love this season.

I'm also loving that our vacation is just 25 days away! It cannot come soon enough.  Negril, here we come :)

I'm  loving that we are getting ready to paint our guest bedroom and bathroom.  I'm having a hard time deciding the colors thought.  I'm thinking a shade of light grey for the guest bedroom and a shade of either sea green or light blue for the guest bath.  I think it will really help to get some color in our house!  Here are some of the colors that I'm considering right now.
This is the color that I'm considering for our guest bathroom.  I think it would feel very relaxing with this color.

I really like this color palette.  The light grey on the far left still feels very neutral to me.  We have light blue
bedding with hints of grey and I think this color would go really well with it.
Let me know what you guys think.  Happy Wednesday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Today I'm linking up for What I'm Loving Wednesdays!
I'm loving... that we finally got some rain today in Georgia.  Our grass and flowers needed it so badly. Thank you Lord for the rain!

I'm loving that this weekend is Mother's Day.  Even though I have to work this weekend at the hospital, my family has planned to go out to take my Mom out to dinner this Friday night.  We are taking her to our favorite local Italian place.  Hopefully it will be hers too after she tries it.

I'm planning on making this pinterest find for mine and my husband's grandmothers for Mother's Day.

I'll take a picture once they are finished.  Hopefully mine will turn out alright.
I'm also loving my other pinterest finds this week:

I feel the Samoa Cake calling my name right now!! Happy Wednesday!

Sunday Ramdoms

I work every other weekend so I always try to fit way too much to do in the weekends in which I'm actually off work. This weekend, I had a ton of things planned such as organizing our pantry, cleaning the house, getting together with friends, going to church, and spending time with family.  Of course, I would wake up feeling like poo yesterday
morning.  So I am sitting here with my lazy self trying to get better for my next two twelve hour shifts that start tomorrow.  No worries though, because I am having an accessory/outfit planning day for a getaway the hubs and I have planned to Jamaica for our anniversary in June!

The bag at the top is what I ordered yesterday from Marley Lilly. I thought it would be a great piece to take for travel because I will be able to fit my passport, cell phone, money, and a little makeup in it for the plane.  It also converts into a wristlet, which will be great to take when we go out to dinner.

If anyone has been to Jamaica  please comment and let me know of any excursions or things not to miss while we are there! Happy Sunday!
